11th Annual Brewster Conservation Day – BEST ONE YET!
Our Water Resources: We are all a part of the solution!
Everyone agreed that 11th Annual Brewster Conservation Day (BCD) was the best one yet! The annual event included over 35 educational exhibitors, 80 volunteers, and welcomed over 700 attendees!!
With Brewster Fire Department flying an enormous American Flag from their ladder truck, this year's festivities were hard to miss as you drove by Drummer Boy Park! Event highlights included a sea turtle made from upcycled beach trash, a live beehive, the AmeriCorps Puppet Show, Trevor the Juggler, a taste of Brewster's Oysters, and of course the Big Flush!
Kids of all ages visited Brewster’s Historical Village, toured the windmill, saw a blacksmith, and learned about the Harris Black house. Guest speakers Brian Baumgaertel, Marty Burke, John Keith, and Mark Nelson taught about alternative septic solutions, pond health, and shared ways we can all help conserve and protect our precious natural resources.
BCD 2022 was sponsored by Brewster Conservation Trust, Town of Brewster, Natural Resources Department, Brewster Historical Society, and Brewster Ponds Coalition, and was supported by a grant from the Mass Cultural Council.
