Our 2023 Annual Meeting on Thursday, August 10, marked a significant anniversary and brought together supporters and colleagues from across the Cape and Islands.
Held in collaboration with the Annual Meeting of The Compact of Cape Cod Conservation Trusts, Inc., BCT's 40th anniversary Annual Meeting drew over 120 people. BCT President Tino Kamarck provided highlights of the year, including the addition of 33.49-acres, almost half of which is within the Zone II Wellhead Protection Area.
Our Conservationists of the Year Award went to Ann and Peter Lambertus for their significant and enduring contributions to the mission of Brewster Conservation Trust. BCT recognized the couple for making a lasting commitment to the future of Brewster by aiding in the preservation of numerous key properties and by directly adding 11.17-acres into Brewster’s conservation inventory.
Rebecca Tepper, Massachusetts Secretary of Energy & Environmental Affairs, provided remarks. State Rep. Chris Flanagan (Barnstable 1st) presented BCT with Citation from the Massachusetts House of Representatives.
This year's event also featured the premiere of A Seed Planted: The Story of Brewster Conservation Trust, a video chronicling the 40 year history of BCT's founding, growth, and significant accomplishments.
A special thank you to Ocean Edge Resort in Brewster for their spacious and generous hospitality.
