Brewster Town Meeting on May 3 voted to protect 51 acres of town-owned land for conservation and water supply protection. Article 22’s passage will transfer 29 acres of woodland into the custody of the Water Department to protect the main wellfield off Freemans Way. Article 23’s approval will transfer two parcels totaling 12 acres to the custody of the Conservation Commission. The larger of the two parcels includes pondshore (shown here), abuts land owned by BCT and connects through to 31 additional acres of protected open space off Clay Hole Road in SE Brewster. It abuts the 3-acre vernal pool parcel that BCT is hoping to buy this spring. See related story.
