Press Release

It is with a heavy heart that we have made the decision to cancel the Brewster Conservation Day 2020 event.  (July 11, 2020)
We, like many of you, truly look forward to this event each year.  It provides us a chance to come together in celebration of our many wonderful natural resources, share our dedication to conservation and fulfill our mission to educate our community.  Each year, we strive to grow and improve by adding new exhibits, new activities and continuing to practice what we preach.  We look forward to connecting with all of you, seeing your smiling faces and meeting new friends.
This summer, many of us will find ourselves connecting in new and different ways.  We will do our best to stay connected, support our fellow BCD exhibitors and continue our community outreach work.  Next year, will mark the 10th Anniversary of Brewster Conservation Day.  (Save the Date – Saturday, July 10, 2021) We plan to see you there!   Until then, please be safe as we all work together to navigate this incredibly challenging time.
Sincerely, the 2020 Brewster Conservation Day event committee:

Brewster Conservation Day Festival

Starting in 2012, the Town and Brewster Conservation Trust sponsored a Day to celebrate the community’s natural resources and organizations dedicated to saving them. With over 40 unique presentations, you can learn from interactive exhibits on aquaculture, natural plant gardening, and water resources.  Take the kids to see some local catch at the Fisherman’s Alliance,  Trevor the Juggler,  and the AmeriCorps Puppet Show.  Learn about our ocean resources, coastal erosion, herring migration, whale rescue, and alternative energy and septic systems.  Tour the blacksmith shop and the windmill, see a fishing weir, and enjoy some Brewster oysters.  Sponsored by the Brewster Conservation Trust, the Town of Brewster Conservation, Natural Resources Department and the Brewster Historical Society

Fall 2024 Newsletter

This story started three generations ago when Ralph and Blanche Doble purchased over 70 acres along Satucket Rd. in 1955. Summer after summer, the couple’s son, five daughters, and 18 grandchildren would visit. Over the years, the land was subdivided and each Doble child received a house lot of approximately ten acres. The daughters each […]

BCT’s 40th Year Annual Report

Over BCT’s 40-year history, the evolution of our mission has been profound. What began as an effort to protect any available land from the reach of breakneck development has become a strategic approach to acquiring land with high conservation value and a steady commitment to natural resource stewardship and community outreach. Read the 40th Year […]

Spring 2024 Newsletter

Sometimes the right place and the right time come together. In a community where housing is in short supply, this is indeed good news. Brewster’s zoning in the 1980’s established large building lots that slowed the unmanageable growth of the time but are now impeding the development of sorely needed workforce housing. Today’s Brewster needs […]
