As part of the Brewster Conservation Trust’s partnership with the Eddy School, 80 third graders from the Eddy Elementary School found milkweed, wild grape and goldenrod at Windmill Meadows next to Drummer Boy Park. Naturalist Donald Shaw helped the students understand habitats and the variety of animals, birds and insects that feed on the seeds, fruits and leaves and find shelter among the plants. The end of school outing also explored the mill and herring run and the historic village with guides from the Brewster Historical Society.
