January 2019   As the Brewster Conservation Trust’s activities in land preservation, stewardship and community outreach have expanded in recent years, the trust has taken another big step forward by hiring Amy Henderson as the organization’s first Executive Director. “We’re delighted to have Amy in place. She brings experience, a strong commitment to conservation and she’s a proven manager. We’re lucky”, said Hal Minis, BCT President.

Prior to joining BCT, Amy served as the Senior Corps Director for Elder Services of Cape Cod and the Islands, and prior to that worked with AmeriCorps in many capacities, including helping establish the FireCorps which served at the Cape Cod Seashore. On her first day at the office, Amy explained “As a resident of Brewster, I am honored to join the BCT staff as the first Executive Director and continue to move the organization’s mission forward. Not only do I look forward to helping to protect Brewster’s natural resources and rural charm, but also connecting with our current and future land stewards.”

The daughters each […]

Spring 2024 Newsletter

Sometimes the right place and the right time come together. In a community where housing is in short supply, this is indeed good news. Brewster’s zoning in the 1980’s established large building lots that slowed the unmanageable growth of the time but are now impeding the development of sorely needed workforce housing. Today’s Brewster needs […]
