The future of Brewster lies in the choices we make today. BCT’s Common Good Legacy Fund is a planned giving program that helps you leave a lasting legacy protecting the natural beauty, ecological integrity, and water quality of Brewster for generations to come.
Bequests
Your will can designate a specific amount to go to BCT or a percentage of your estate. You can also identify a remainder interest after all other bequests have been fulfilled.
You can gift your IRA - Any beneficiary of your traditional IRA must pay both estate and income taxes. By making that IRA a charitable gift, you avoid those tax responsibilities, which may allow additional funds for your family or other interests.
You can gift your house - It could be leased to provide funds for BCT and a home for a family. It could be sold and the proceeds used to preserve and maintain green space, wildlife habitat and water quality.
You can gift your life insurance - If your family circumstances have changed, you may no longer need to hold onto your policy. A gift to BCT can remove this taxable asset from your estate.
