Who We Are

Brewster Conservation Trust (BCT) was established in 1983 to acquire, preserve and manage open space in Brewster including its beaches, marshes, meadows, woodlands, pond shore, wetlands, aquifer and wildlife habitat. BCT is a nonprofit, charitable organization supported by memberships and donations. BCT has completed over 100 land conservation projects resulting in more than 716  protected acres.

What is a Land Trust? / Land Trust Advantages

Land trusts are local, state, or regional nonprofit organizations directly involved in protecting land for its natural, recreational, scenic, historical, or productive value. Most land trusts are private, nonprofit corporations. Land trusts are not “trusts” in the legal sense, and may also be called “conservancies,” “foundations,” or any number of other names descriptive of their purpose.  Learn More >>
